my mam has been in prison for about 3 months now and she is coming out tomorrow.. do you think she will go back to looking for heroin or do you think that this is enough timee for her to heal ?
and yes she does take methadone ? x

here’s the thing about drugs…she would have gone through withdrawal already, yes. i think that takes a week or something. people generally stay in detox for a month (like rehab) or so. so yes, she’ll be off of it and “okay” without it. the problem is, she was on heroin. that’s the strongest..or one of them. so the memories are strong and she’ll likely go back b/c she’ll miss that feeling. it’s an addiction. addictions can’t be kicked in three months. i’m sorry. if you need to chat, IM me. otherwise, you can email. just let me know which question was yours.

that is well enough time to get of heroin, normally 1 week sober cleans your body out, but if she managed to get hold of heroin in prison then she could still be on it, the prisons cant stop every drug being smuggled in and its highly likely people could get hold of some.
