So I have a bilateral pars defect. Which means on the lowest set of vertebrae in my spine I have a fracture on both sides. It’s incredibly excruciating. I am in pain all day, everyday. My pain fluctuates but never gets below about a 7 on a scale of 1-10. I am completely immune to every pain killer in existence. Please don’t suggest any because I have literally had EVERY painkiller. I wish I was exaggerating. I have had patches, many injections and nerve blocks, several infusions, tried heat and ice, muscle relaxers, IV medications. There’s nothing left to try. I cannot stand how much pain I am in and need to know if Botox or anything like that has helped anyone. I’ve also had acupuncture, cupping, maiofascial release, etc. I have the diagnosis “functional back pain” which in a nutshell means “you’re just in a lot of pain and all we can do is have you do physical therapy”. I’m doing a lot better than before but it is still unbearable. Please suggest anything you can think of!
And I can’t take a higher dose of medications that I’ve tried. I’ve been given so much I’ve stopped breathing. If they gave me a higher dose than what they gave me before, I would die of overdose. I had morphine 24/7 for a week and it was like water to me.
The fractures I have will never heal. I’ll have them forever

I would ask the doctor to see how much pain medicine they can give you and if they can up it. There’s not much you can do but just get some help about it from another doctors office, or asking to see if you can up the medication.

Hello Kat, I am so very sorry for your pain and I know it well, it is always with me.
I have a plate, 3 level lumbar failed fusion, rods and 6 screws. Pain is always with me and I have tried most every thing you have used over the last 15 years. It only takes the edge off of the pain. You take pills to get up & move, more when it hurts more because you pay in pain for everything you do physically. More to get through evening and more to knock you down for sleep so you can get up and do it all again. It is always with you! You may eventually be fixed, mine is set in stone,
I will be like this till my last breath. I finally just refused any more PT, just hurt me more. There is nothing to suggest that will help unless you find a miracle. I hope you do! God bless, hon.
