I saw my ex best friend whom I haven’t seen in 2 years this past weekend. She told me she is a “recovered drug addict”, do drug addicts actually ever “recover”?
She was snorting coke, smoking crack, taking Oxycontins, Methadone and other various pain pills. She said she quit doing the drugs by going to NA meetings, but didn’t go to any treatment facilities or seek counseling. She says she has been clean for a year, but has a had a “couple” slip ups. She was acting extremely happy and energetic when I saw her, but she refused to look me in the face when she was speaking to me. I’m just wondering what are the chances that she really is clean, I always thought you had to detox, then go to rehab or something for a while to truly quit.

you don’t have to go to rehab, but you don’t recover you are recovering for the rest of you life. You are always a recovering addict, not recovered. as soon as you think you are recovered you relapse because you think you have it licked and you try one hit . There is no such thing as one in recovery . I am a recovering addict ,have not had a drug or drink in 16 years. But I only have today I will always be recovering never recovered.

Im sorry to say but chances are high. you know the saying: once an addict always an addict? the chances of them getting out from that vice is slim, but with proper supervision an addict will eventually be rid of that material provided that he / she will never get the means to get it ever again. If you have a friend who’s an addict and you want to help, the best thing you can do is to watch over him/ her even if it takes a lifetime.

methadone maintenance is a last resort. While it works for some people it still takes the edge off your ambition and insulates your emotions among other things For a lot of people it’s the best of two evils but in others they continue abusing other drugs and acohol When taken with benzos it can cause big trouble although not usually OD but the combination can cause accidents and you or someone else can end up in the hospital or jail because your judgement it gone How do I know this? 1st hand
HOLY CRAP- at minute 1:14 here this person is getting ELEVEN 10mg Pills every 8 hours – the #462 is 14 days worth-0 holy shit people that’s 330 MG a day!!! – most dr’s would cut you at 120 MG a day- certainly any honorable methadone clinic wouldn’t go anywhere near this- this is downright malpractice- coming from an ex methadone/benzo addict I sure hope this person is still alive
What they fail to say is not a single person dies of methodone alone its when pople take other drugs and mix them. Methodone is a life saver and ashelped many people. Stupid news is talking shizzle.
Hey? everyone, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which cost a lot per month just to stay clean. I’ve since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free? and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get? clean but doesn’t have the? funds to do it. Msg me.
Some people claim that Methadone “works”. The only reason it works is because it’s legal and heroin is illegal in the eyes of the law. If Heroin was legal and controlled like Methadone, it would work too perhaps even better than Methadone because it is nowhere near as harmful as Methadone. Heroin does not rot your bones or change your brain as drastically as Methadone does. It is a killer drug canon by the pharmaceutical companies because of one simple reason…money.
Take it from someone whose an opiate addict for 20+ yrs, methadone is the devil’s drug. It is 10x more addictive than heroin but brings no benefits to the user. Heroin at least gets you feeling good when you have it. With methadone, it will slowly eat away your body and mind until your soul is depress and fatigue all the time, unable to even get out of bed. Trust me, long term methadone use will destroy your soul, your spirit not just the body. You won’t realize until its too late!
methadone is fucking awesome, you take a pill smaller than an asperin, then an hour later your feeling good, nothing loopy or anything, then once the pill kicks in you’ll just feel head orgasms for the next few hour which feels good

I was an heroin addict from 1991 – 2000. Now I take methadone 100mg AND alprazolam 2mg and no more. I take what I am prescribed. As far as heroin…haven’t touched it for over 10 years. Some would say… “but now youre addicted to those pills.” I say…”SO WHAT!!!” My life is better than when I was shooting dope. Basta!!!
@SIRSMOKEALOT12100 Thanks for sharing your story, i too am stuck in a similar situation, they wont let me go down either and ive been on it for too long, i can’t just stop cold turkey because i would be deathly ill. The cunt doctor just started dropping my dose by 5 mg’s per month…at that rate it will take me another full year to be off it…
Unfortunately they don’t offer suboxone where i live…If you live in wpg, Mb be careful of your local methadone clinics!

this is a new american propoganda because here in uk we get methadone and dont get all these deaths, I reckon the drug companies have a new opioid to peddle so are getting government friends to demonise it.
I think opium or heroin should be prescribed using drugs grown under licence in afganistan.
Also methadone blocks effects of other opiates, u get little or no buzz so in fact need higher doses for them to work.
im sure there are some good ones, but the one i went to was shit. i went in 3 days after i turned 18 and they seriously would not let me take my dose down. legal drugg deaaallinn. i ended up stopping and 95 mg without suboxone or anything and i swear that shit almost killed me
