Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Question by Elizabeth Pollard: Should I stay or should I go?
My boyfriend is a recovering drug addict, & is currently going to a Methadone Clinic, (which I understand is no better that getting it from the streets, he doesn’t seem to think that though). I love this boy to death, we have been dating for nearly 3 years now. He was going to the “clinic” when I first met him, & was kicked out because he kept failing drug tests & coming up positive for marijuana. The second time he went to the clinic, he had to quit cold-turkey because he lost his job & we were on the verge of getting evicted from our apartment. And now, the 3rd time at his clinic, nothing seems to be any better. As a matter of fact, I believe it is worse. He just lost his job, AGAIN, & yet still refuses to quit going & steals money from me so that he can go. He says if he quits going now it will put him into some serious withdrawals. I believe he said he is at 120mg. Anyways, the methadone does some crazy stuff to him, he falls asleep in the middle of talking, smoking, even while sitting at a red-light while driving. I’ve informed the clinic of his behavior & they say he should def not be acting like that, but its been like this for on ongoing 3-4 months now. I’m sick of it all, I LOVE this boy, I really do, when he was away from the methadone clinic & pills he was the most amazing guy in the world, but now i’m just not so sure of him anymore. I don’t want to leave him, but he has it engraved in his head that the methadone clinic is the only answer for him. I’ve told him how i feel about this place, to me they are nothing but legal drug dealers just tryin to make there money. Should I just leave him to do his drugs, because obviously me asking him & trying to help him to stop isn’t working, or should I keep trying to help him & stay with him???

p.s. the whole situation is kinda hard to explain on here, so if anyone wants to go into more detail with it, or ask me questions feel free.
