methadone clinics are places that people can go for help to stop using drugs
they help the people by giving them methadone (it’s a medication/drug) that will help them to slowly stop using their street drugs
sometimes street drugs are so powerful that people literally can’t just stop using them otherwise their body will shut down and it gets really ugly
they need help to come off them

umm..
its usually used as an anti-addictive.. meaning it helps drug addicts to get over their addictions to heroin and such.
although..
its also used in managing chronic pain… (long term pain)
