How to Stop My Opiate Addiction?
Question by Bob Job: How to stop my Opiate addiction?
I have been using opiates for over a year now, sometimes with a perscription sometimes with out. Oxycontin has been my main obsticle and being that it nearly costs a dollar a milligram it can cost up to $ 100 just for one day. I have not been using everyday but every chance I get money thats where almost all of it goes. My mom is aware of this addiction and I have been trying to stress to her that this is a very hard one to break. I have used marijuana, adderall, benzodiazapines, and other perscription medicine. Opiates have this grab on me that is very hard to quit.
I Am Having Some Problems With the Side Effects to Methadone Please Help Me Take Care of This Problem!!??
Question by Brittany: I am having some problems with the side effects to Methadone please help me take care of this problem!!??
I go to the Methadone clinic and I can’t take no kind of sleeping pills to my knowledge, for two good reasons; 1: the sleeping pills may make me fell my urine test; 2: They may interact with the Methadone. Does anyone know what I should do? I also have a few more questions about some side effects I am having to the Methadone; The methadone makes me sweat alot, and I have tried a vitamin called Vitadone made just for Methadone patients, its helps with with most of the side effects, but not the sweating, and I also shake real bad, I used to be on xanex for my nerves, but I had to quit taking it, so I could do the treatment! I have problems with getting my bowls to move, what can I do? Someone please help me.
Question About Methadone for W/d’s?
Question by L Dane A: question about methadone for w/d’s?
I just got my hands on 10mg of methadone after the most ruthless six hours of withdrawals ever, and I’m wondering if this is enough to take the pain away for someone who’s on 180mg of oxycodone plus 75mg of morphine daily. Also, how long does it take to work? I took it like almost an hour and a half ago and.. nothing. I mean, my w/d has decreased noticeably, i suppose, but not the way suboxone could help me if i railed it

when you take the methadone, how does it effect you and when you take the norco, how does it effect you? does either one make you sleepy?
if no, sure, take them both – thats fine. if you take one or the other and they make you sleep for a few hours, then dont take them at the same time.
Methadone and Oral Surgery?
Question by Lolita: Methadone and oral surgery?
I need to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed, and will be put under general anesthesia. I’m currently on a methadone maintenance program. I’m taking 65 mg liquid methadone daily, but decreasing dosage by 5 mg daily. In a perfect world, I’d be off the methadone completely before surgery, but I think more realistically, I’ll be taking about 30-40 mg daily. My dentist doesn’t know I’m taking this yet, but I do plan to tell him well in advance of the surgery. Does anyone have any experience taking methadone and being put under general anesthesia? What about pain management afterwards? Is there anything I could suggest to my dentist? Assuming he won’t understand treating pain with someone who is on methadone maintenance.
