Please Help Me Understand Drug Test Results :-(?
Question by NoName: Please help me understand drug test results :-(?
Hello,
I am currently on Norco 7.5 four times daily due to nerve damage and injury to my spine. I also take 30mg Adderall IR daily as prescribed, and take Ritalin 20mg on the weekends or on my days off, as well as 3 mg Klonopin and 2400mg Gabapentin for nerve damage daily.
I have no idea how drug testing or cutoffs work or anything like that, and I frankly wasn’t concerned when I went in for my first pain contract test as I’ve done nothing wrong (I asked to go on a contract after an Urgent Care doc treated me like a drug addict. It was a lovely experience. He sent me home after trying to force me into pain meds I didn’t want, with a partially dislocated shoulder (that he “overlooked”).
Should I Try Suboxone?
Question by theheatheatwave: Should I try suboxone?
I am addicted to po9py tea. I take 8-14 grams of powdered po9py pod$ a day. This is equivalent to about 18 mg of Oxy a day— though I do not take oxy as it make me feel too swimmy and I don’t like to buy things on the street that might be stolen/fake. When I take less than 8 mg of poppy powder I have withdraws: nightmares, sweating, very painful tummy like being stuck with knives, sore joints, crankiness, suicidal thoughts (I know better than to act on them, of course), depression, no appetite, feeling worn-out and unable to work or care for myself. (Even taking a bath sounds like too much work.) I have tried to quit *three* times twice on my own and once with my husband’s help through a slow taper. But, when I get down to the low levels around 6-5mg a day, the withdraws just seem to keep building then stress from work makes me snap and I give in to the desire to take more poppy powder to make the withdraws go away so I can get my work done. (That’s what I tell myself.. but deep inside I just feel weak and like a failure.)
My New Pain Mgmnt Doctor Just Put Me on Methodone Today. I Was Taking 40-50mg of Percocet, Not Everyday But…?
Question by [email protected]: My new pain mgmnt doctor just put me on Methodone today. I was taking 40-50mg of percocet, not everyday but…?
when I needed to for the pain. I would say that it is about 4-5days a week. I went to a new pain doc today and yes I would love to get off of all meds together, but I need something to take when I am in a lot of pain. So she put me on this??? It’s 5mg 3x a day and so far it is not working. Plus, from what I have been reading this stuff may be worse! I didn’t take any pain meds for a week and had some minor hot flases. So seriously do I need to be on these? Help, I am scarred to be on these. Also I have tried ultram n darvacet and they don’t work.
Thank you, and yes I was taking that doasge of the percocets when I stopped cold turkey with only having the hot flashes. I guess I am just really scarred from what I have read about this stuff. And unfortunately I am in pain and it is not helping. Ont the bottle it says to take 3x daily as needed, but the pharmacist told me that I should prob take it 3x daily even if I am not in pain, that way I am giving it a shot. But I see some talk of being on it for even just 3days is real bad. ???
Work Drug Screen Question?
Question by Cherish: Work Drug Screen Question?
I have a interveiw comming up for a job I really want. It says that a background check and a Drug Screen is required. I have to take Precsription pain meds for health reasons. Usually is Hydrocodone and when it is really bad Percocet. I was wondering if they look for this on pre-employment drug screens or not? If they do or it shows up if I have written permission-reasoning from my doctor can they or would they refuse employment to me? I would hope not but I wanted to ask. Thank you in advance.:)

If they screen for opiates, then they would show up and it all will tell them is you have opiates in your system. If you have a legitimate reason for taking these and a doctor’s prescription, I cannot see any reason why they would not hire you, unless they don’t want someone who is taking pain medication working for them. Good luck.
What Alternatives Are There for Methadone Withdrawal and How Long Do the Last?
Question by Nait: What alternatives are there for methadone withdrawal and how long do the last?
I have been on about 30MG of methadone (prescribed) for close to 6 years now. I broke my back while in the military and in an effort to avoid surgery I see a pain management doctor. I have compressed nerves and a good amount of nerve pain associated with the condition (spondylolithesis grade 3) and the methadone has been a life saver because I can live a close to normal life and still be semi physically active. Without any pain meds I would have to resort to a major spine fusion that would begin the start of many times over being cut on. I just recently lost almost a whole bottle of methadone while out of town at a hotel and have not been able to recover it. My doctor’s office, although they do believe me because I have been as responsible as I can be while on this stuff), they told me that they cannot replace or offer an alternative for lost or stolen meds under any circumstances. So, I am left with the prospect of withdrawing from methadone “cold turkey” and I am absolutely feeling like my world is ending. I am on day 3.5 of going without and it only keeps getting worse. I just about cussed out my doctor and accused him of being irresponsible knowing that I would be stopping cold turkey after being on this stuff for 6 years, not too mention the fact that the pain meds keep me being able to function normally and stay on my feet for long periods of time. I understand policies but I have been a responsible patient with a track record of using any extras prior to filling new scripts! I cannot sleep even a little and have not slept longer than 20 minutes in the past 3.5 days and I cannot function normally at all. My only current options are to deal and have my prescription filled at the normal interval in 24 days.
